Do I need Relief Care or Corrective Care?

There are many different types of care. Most people associate Integrative Medical Center with back pain and symptom relief. Although all Chiropractors are able to relieve symptoms, the doctors and staff at Optimum Physical Medicine will search for the true cause of any health condition and design a specific plan of action for each patient.

Relief Care

Relief care is designed to do just what it sounds like; decrease pain. Many chiropractors are very good at doing this, leaving their patient to feel gratitude for the short time the pain has been eased only to find themselves once again suffering in pain. Now the patient will usually return to the doctor who relieved their pain last time and again will be very appreciative for the care given. This type of Integrative Medical Center has done wonders to promote chiropractic treatment for pain management, but it has also limited the general publics understanding of the true benefits of Integrative Medical Center.

Corrective Care

Corrective care is a completely different approach to achieving and maintaining optimal health. Corrective care evaluates the person for not only trauma and pathology but more importantly for function. A corrective care chiropractor will evaluate the curves of the spine, while many relief care chiropractors will focus on a specific vertebrae. This is a huge advantage to the patient because without proper structure there will never be proper function. No single vertebrae functions independent of itself. Corrective care doctors will also give the patient a clear plan of action. Including scheduled re-evaluation and re-testing to measure progress along the road to health.

How much is the care going to cost?

Pricing for services depends on if you will be using insurance or will be self-pay. When reviewing personalized care plans, our dedicated insurance team calculates the costs depending on your insurance coverage. Our case manager will create and present to you, a customized estimated financial plan on what the providers prescribe is best for you during your visits and what the responsibilities from your insurance company are.

Will I get an adjustment during my Initial visit?

Every person must go through the New Patient Process and have X-Rays taken before they are seen for an adjustment. There are specific instances where a provider may make the call to adjust you on that day, after your X-Rays are taken. But there is no guarantee that you will be able to.

Can I get an adjustment without having X-Rays taken?

Every patient at Optimum Healthcare must have X-Rays taken prior to any chiropractic adjustment. While spinal adjustments are a safe form of healthcare, we, as a clinic, want to ensure that we know exactly what is going on with your body before we do any type of treatment.

I can’t make my scheduled appointments. Can I just show up when I am available?

Any care that you receive at Optimum Healthcare is carefully coordinated between the teams. If you have any scheduling issues then you will need to call the clinic before your appointment time and speak to a member of our front office staff who will assist in finding a solution. Showing up outside your scheduled time may result in a longer wait or you not being able to receive care that day.

When am I expected to show up for my appointments?

A copy of the completed New Patient Paperwork is due when you arrive for your visit. Any late arrivals or incomplete forms at the scheduled appointment time will result in rescheduling. For all other service appointments, 5 to 10 minutes is acceptable. View the New Patient Forms here.

I can’t remember what days and times I set for my appointments.

After contacting our front office team, we will be able to print you a paper or email copy upon request.

I have concerns about my treatment, who do I contact

Our case management team is always available to answer any questions that you may have. For more technical concerns about your treatments/X-Rays, you will have to discuss those with your provider on your next visit.
