We specialize in correcting your body’s misalignments. Our goal is to ensure that your spine and the rest of your body are working harmoniously. To do so, we will help you develop a plan that will require light stretching, some exercise, chiropractic care, and a healthy diet.
A chiropractic adjustment can make you feel so much better. Your body does not want to be out of alignment, and that’s exactly what an adjustment can help address. It is also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation. The adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that have abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. A chiropractic adjustment will assist in fixing these issues.
The goal of chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, increase the range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our compassionate and qualified chiropractor will work with you to relieve this pain and get you back to being pain free every single day.
Although many people visit their chiropractor and have an adjustment when something feels out of alignment, a regular visit will help you avoid any pain in the future and will keep your body feeling great all day long.
If you are having one of those days when you are not in the best mood, an adjustment may actually help. Your body will feel much better, which will naturally improve your mood.
Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.
It is important to understand that often times where the pain presents is not the area that needs to be treated. The pain may be due to that area compensating and being over-worked from another area not pulling its weight. Our rehabilitation program includes strength, flexibility and agility training as well as training focused on coordination of body parts and motion to prepare the individual to return to full participation.
Here at Optimum Healthcare we want to help you on your journey towards health and wellness. Our goal is to help you achieve total health and balance with your body. In order to achieve that goal, we are here to offer specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to help you maintain a healthy weight.
One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology (such as possible tumor or fracture) and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.
Cold Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and help accelerate your healing process. Laser treatment can be used on people suffering from acute and chronic conditions in order to eliminate pain and swelling, increase functionality, and reduce spasms.
Weight loss is something with which millions of people struggle. As you know, your weight doesn't just contribute to your physical appearance. Your weight and the amount of fat in your body can help or hurt your body by contributing to either a healthy physique or lead to medical issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. Weight loss is not just about restricting calories, which is what most people try to do. Weight loss is really about correcting your nutrition, managing your stress, and for some, working with or around chronic diseases and medical conditions.
Sometimes all that stands between your daily pain and a happier, healthier you, is a chiropractic adjustment. Your body naturally wants to be in alignment, and our daily activities can throw what is naturally aligned out of balance. Also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, chiropractic adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that have abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. Here at Optimum Healthcare, we can help you achieve balance and proper alignment, giving you relief and improving your health.
Our goal in treating your joint and spinal issues is to reduce subluxation, increase range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our highly skilled chiropractor will work with you to relieve your pain and get you back to living a pain free and healthy lifestyle.
Spinal decompression is a non-invasive mechanical procedure performed within our office to help alleviate back pain. It involves gently stretching the spine to take pressure off the spinal discs (the cushions that separate the vertebrae in the spine). By relieving this pressure, bulging discs can retract back into place which takes pressure off the nerves in the spine. By decompressing the spine, it permits water, oxygen and other fluids to work their way back into the discs allowing them to heal naturally. Spinal decompression is an excellent option for anyone with chronic back pain who wants to get back to living a pain-free life as quickly as possible.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is used to treat both men and women experiencing imbalances or drops in their naturally-occurring hormones. Hormones are responsible for most of your essential bodily functions, so when they are disrupted in any way, cascade effects across all your systems can ensue.
Symptoms that are common with menopause such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, memory loss, weight gain, sleep issues, and low libido can be dramatically improved with BHRT. For many other conditions, BHRT can improve vitality, energy, mental clarity, mood, weight loss, and even muscle strength!
BHRT comes in several different forms, and at Optimum Healthcare, we carefully take into consideration your symptoms, medical conditions, and history before making a recommendation for a specific treatment.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Optimum Healthcare is proud to offer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to our patients. PRP has continued to grow as a reliable way to effectively treat sexual dysfunction, and even has aesthetic applications such as improving overall skin and hair health.
How does it work?
Our blood predominantly consists of plasma, which carries red and white blood cells and platelets. PRP is created by drawing some of the patient’s own blood and then using a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets within a sample of the plasma. This concentrated sample of platelets is then combined with the original blood sample. We can then inject this platelet-rich blood into the treatment area. While results may not occur immediately, many women experience improved sensitivity, functionality, and muscle tone while improving the performance of sexual function and bladder control.
Many people suffer from B12 vitamin deficiency, especially with the growing popularity of veganism, vegetarianism, and other specialty diets and lifestyles. Others who may be more susceptible to vitamin B12 deficiency are patients diagnosed with Crohn’s disease or celiac disease, and those who have undergone intestinal procedures such as weight loss surgery.
While many who are deficient opt for oral, over-the-counter supplements, we recommend approaching the deficiency head-on with B12 injections. This form of supplementation is beneficial and safe and can help treat a variety of symptoms while preventing damage to the body from the deficiency. In fact, some who aren’t deficient in vitamin B12 choose to take advantage of this supplementation as it offers a variety of health and behavioral benefits such as increased energy, improvements in mood, and weight loss.
At Optimum Healthcare, we understand that not everyone can meet their daily nutritional needs through food alone. Whether you are on a special diet or have poor absorption of nutrients, we are here to help.
Optimum Healthcare specializes in pain management. According to the American
Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), “Chronic pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined.” If you are experiencing pain, we want to help! We are dedicated to helping patients regain pain-free lives. Oftentimes, people do not seek help for pain until it worsens. We want to help at the onset of symptoms, so they do not progress. We believe in approaching patient treatment in a Three Tier Care Model: Relief Care, Corrective/Restorative Care, and Wellness Care.
The objective in Relief Care is to help you feel better as quickly as possible. In this phase of care, you are typically seen 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks. After the initial time frame, we will re-evaluate your chief complaint and decide further treatment goals. Our goal is to help you feel better and get the relief you need.
During the Corrective/Restorative Care phase we will want to see you anywhere from 4-8
times per month for 6-24 months depending on the severity of your condition. The
Corrective Care phase focuses on muscles and tissues healing to proper form. After the Corrective phase of care, we will re-evaluate once again
to make sure things are progressing as planned.
Here at Optimum Healthcare, we want to see all our patients attain and maintain a level of wellness care. This is when your body is fully healed and only needing maintenance adjustments. It is still recommended to come in for periodic adjustments to keep things running smoothly. This requires a quick visit 1-4 times per month based on your lifestyle and goals.
Our strategy for dealing with pain has resulted in a whole-person approach to patient care which includes health promotion, disease prevention and therapeutic conservatism. We embrace this level of care and want to help you work towards this wellness mindset.
Functional medicine is a personalized and integrative approach to healthcare which involves understanding the prevention, management, and root causes of complex chronic disease. It has evolved integrative, holistic, conventional and naturopathic models to offer the most comprehensive and effective approach to healthcare in the 21st century.
Functional medicine focuses on the most current scientific research regarding how your genetics, environment and lifestyle interact in order to diagnose and treat conditions. The goal is to shift from treating the disease (disease-centered) to treating the person who has the disease (patient-centered). Functional medicine addresses the whole person and not just an isolated list of symptoms. Symptom suppression is only used as a temporary fix while seeking the root cause of the symptoms ensures optimal health for the patient. Here at Optimum Healthcare, we spend time with our patients, listen to their health history, and examine the interactions between genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. These factors contribute to long term health issues and complex, chronic diseases. In this way, functional medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
Trigger Point Injections
Here at Optimum Healthcare, we are proud to offer trigger point injections for patients struggling with fibromyalgia, tension headaches, myofascial pain, and muscle pain in the arms, legs, lower back and neck.
During your appointment, we will locate the area where you are experiencing pain and inject small amounts of anesthetic and steroids to help alleviate your symptoms. This procedure is safe and the risk of possible complications is very low. You may experience soreness or numbness at the injection site for a temporary period of time. While you should avoid strenuous activity for a few days, you should be able to actively use your muscles immediately following treatment.
Active Release Technique
Active Release Technique (ART) is a soft tissue therapy designed to rid injured areas of scar tissue. Here at Optimum Healthcare we incorporate ART in our treatment of musculoskeletal disorders to remedy injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, rotator cuff injuries, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, tennis elbow, headaches, and back pain. All of theses conditions tend to have one thing in common: the result of an overused muscle.
As scar tissue builds up the following may occur:
• Muscles become shorter and weaker
• Tension on tendons causes tendonitis
• Nerves can become entrapped
Each of these factors contribute to symptoms such as:
• Reduced Range of Motion
• Loss of Strength
• Nerve entrapment (If a nerve is trapped, it can cause numbness and tingling in the
Scar tissue serves the body the same way patch repairs do on small cracks in the road. When muscles or other tissues are overstressed or injured, our bodies use scar tissue as a patch repair. This is naturally how your body heals. If the source of the injury is not corrected, the tissue will accumulate too much scar tissue creating a problem. This is similar to when a road has had too many patch repairs and no longer smooth.
ART is a way to smooth out your muscles and tissue or “resurface the road”. It is not a massage technique which is used for decreasing muscle tension. This technique works out the scar tissue and helps the tissues to heal normally with long lasting results. It is important to note that pain, numbness or other symptoms may not be resolved if the scar tissue is not broken up or the source of the tension is not discovered. Our highly trained chiropractor is knowledgeable in ART and will perform a careful, thorough exam.
What is IV nutrition?
IV nutrition works by taking a concentrated blend of vitamins and minerals and distributing them directly into the bloodstream. This allows you to consume high levels of nutrients that your body cannot obtain through diet alone, even when you take oral vitamins and supplements. Increasing the vitamin and mineral levels in your body through IV nutrition therapy helps decrease inflammation, promote proper healing, increase energy, and improve overall health. Delivering nutrition through an IV allows us to bypass the digestive system and obtain higher levels of nutrients right into the bloodstream.
IV nutrition can be for anyone! Almost everyone can benefit from the increase of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that come from IV nutrition therapy. Giving your body the extra nutrients it needs can help you feel recharged and re-energized. For patients who are suffering from chronic pain or various conditions, IV nutrition therapy can be used to increase your overall health. The increase in nutrition helps promote healing in the body while decreasing inflammation, which is a common source of pain for many patients.
How does IV nutrition work?
Before beginning any treatment, we will determine how IV nutrition therapy can best help you as well as review your medical history. Each IV nutrition blend is determined uniquely based on your body’s needs. For some patients, we may conduct a small nutrition test to identify where the body is showing low levels of nutrition and thus tailor your IV nutrition therapy to meet your needs.
Once the best mixture of nutrients is determined, the treatment can begin. The IV is placed in the arm as this is where the nutrients will enter your bloodstream. The mixture of nutrients will then be hung and connected to your IV. The drip will start, and your body will begin to take in the extra vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. The treatment takes place in our office and usually takes approximately one hour to complete. IV nutrition therapy is a minimally-invasive procedure, and you will be back to your regular routine immediately following treatment.
